PAM SHEA

Pam Shea is a Child Development Specialist. She started working with children in the 1970s while studying Child Development. She specialized in children with special needs. In 1983, Pam opened a private day care, FREE TO BE ME, in Santa Monica, California. It was the first program in West Los Angeles to mainstream children with special needs. In 1995, Pam moved her family to Sedona, Arizona. While in Sedona, Pam taught at various daycare facilities before creating FREE TO BE ME in Sedona, which has been nurturing children since 2008.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

FREE TO BE ME nourishes the “core” of each child in many ways. Through positive role modeling, children are given “tools” to help them work through daily challenges and relationships. FREE TO BE ME empowers each child’s self-esteem and sense of self. Children learn through play in an atmosphere filled with warmth, love, creativity, exploration and hands-on activities with positive guidance.
